<p>The present invention relates to water soluble radiation activatable polymer resin formulations which are suitable to modify the absorption properties of fibrous materials and the polymer obtained by such radiation activatable polymer resins and the method of preparing such polymer. Fibrous materials made with radiation activatable resin formulations according to this invention are especially suitable for use in disposable absorbent articles.</p>
