<p>Devices, kits and methods are disclosed that employ a electrode for insertion into a patient in which a flow of liquid is supplied to the sensing surface of the electrode to keep away undesirable contaminants or fouling components, while allowing the desired analyse to diffuse towards the electrode and thus be determined. The invention is particularly concerned with a device which enables the electrode to be correctly inserted at a site in a patient's body, e.g. in the interstitial space between the skin and vascularised tissue below, and in a way that is acceptable to the patient and which does not damage the electrode and with a fluid priming and delivery system for supplying the a microflow fluid to the inserted electrode.</p> |
