<p>The invention concerns a system form monitoring the incoming (SE) and outgoing (SS) signals of a set of equipment items (E1-EQ), such as a digital television transmitter, and the equipment items themselves to detect various faults therein. In response to one of the detected operating faults (MFE) in an equipment (Eq), an equipment alarm (AE) signals the breakdown of the equipment, and a service alarm (AS) is directly generated if it determines with sufficient certainty the impact of the detected fault on the outgoing signal, or in correlation with alarms resulting from detected faults in the outgoing signals if the impact of the detected fault on the outgoing signal is defined with uncertainty. Additionally, the system prevents cascading alarms resulting from a detected fault and coming from detectors downstream of the location where the fault has been detected.</p> |
