Process for removing explosive materials or their mixtures from military objects consisting of a casing containing the explosive comprises partially or completely coating the explosive with a meltable material; opening the object in the region of the largest cross-section of the inner chamber of the casing; heating the explosive in the contact region with the casing so that it is dissolved by the casing; and removing the explosive from the casing into a separate vessel. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the process.
