The end railing for closing off the end side of scaffolding has a base section (11) connected to a handling section (13) which in relation to the base section is movable between an in-use position and a handling position for the manipulation of the railing during assembly and disassembly. The handling section in the manipulating position forms especially a downwards orientated extension of the base section. The base section fastened to the scaffolding is provided as a safe termination of the scaffolding's end side.
