An elevator car door device wherein a door motor(22)is connected directly to a drive pulley(24),the whole of the door motor(22)being disposed below the level of the upper end of a door frame(21).Further,a permanent magnet type motor is used as the door motor(22).Further,the door frame(21)is provided with a horizontal portion(21b)and the door motor(22)is suspended from the lower portion of the horizontal portion.
