[Also in Division F2] A fastener assembly comprises a self-tapping screw (17), and a plate (22), Figs. 2 and 4 (not shown), the plate having a triangular shaped aperture (11), Fig. 1 (not shown), into which the screw (17) is screwed. The body portion (18) of the screw between the threads (19), is guided by the faces (12-14) in the aperture, and the pitch of the thread is such that between each thread convolution, portion (18) is at least equal to the thickness of plate (22). The corners of aperture (11) may be rounded, Fig. 1 (not shown), or flat, Fig. 3 (not shown). |
