The pipe compression joint uses a metal compression fitting (1) with an annular bead (2) receiving a seal element (3) and a cylindrical section (7) into which a pipe end (4) is fitted, with an angled transition (6) between the annular bead and the cylindrical section. At least 2 pressure plates are used for compression of the pipe fitting after insertion of the pipe end, by application of pressure to both the annular bead and the cylindrical section, the inside surface of the compression fitting provided with a coating (14) having nano particles.
