<p>A rotary engine (10) including a drive element rotary disposed within an open interior of a drive chamber (20), the drive chamber (20) having an interior wall structure (24) which defines the open interior (22) including a fuel intake region (28), a combustion region (25), an exhaust region (26), and a fluid intake region (27) therein. The engine further includes a plurality of combustion chambers (50) disposed about a periphery of the drive element (40) and movable with the drive element relative to the drive chamber. Further, the combustion chambers (50) are sized in accordance with a relative spacing between the drive element and the interior wall structure, the interior wall structure (24) being defined so that the combustion chambers (50) decrease in size as they rotate through the fuel intake region (27), thereby compressing a fuel contained in the combustion region (25), increase in size as they rotate through the combustion region.</p> |
