An IC card in which an image is reliably printed on a reversible display layer on a card base,and an IC chip is reliably protected by a reinforcing plate,and which has a high reliability.The IC card comprises an IC module(1)in which a reinforcing plate(16)covering an IC chip(14)mounted on an insulating substrate(11)through a sealing resin(15)covering the IC chip(14)is provided,a resinous card base(2)for encapsulating the IC module(1),and a reversible recording layer(3)formed at least on one side of the card base(2).Reinforcing patterns(13,13’)having openings(13a,13a’)for providing a mounting portion where the IC chip(14)is mounted are provided at least on either the IC chip mounting side or the IC chip non−mounting side of the insulating substrate(11). |
