PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain good accelerating performance in a manual shift mode by suppressing the reduction of an engine speed when up shift operation is performed in a high speed region and during acceleration and to reduce engine noises and prevent the generation of excessive engine brake by reducing the engine speed when up shift operation is performed in no high speed region or during no acceleration. SOLUTION: In the case of the manual shift mode being selected, when up shift operation is performed at a transmission input speed Nin being a preset high speed NinH or slower or during no acceleration, the variable speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission is controlled in accordance with normal shift lines 1-6 where the variable speed ratio of variable speed stages is fixed. When up shift operation is performed at the transmission input speed Nin being the preset high speed NinH or faster and during acceleration, the variable speed ratio of the continuously variable transmission is controlled in accordance with acceleration shift lines 2'-6' where the variable speed ratio of the variable speed stages is set to be lower than in the normal shift lines. |
