PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device of a high contrast. SOLUTION: The display device of the high contrast is provided by sealing a dispersion system dispersed with many electrophoretic particles in a dispersion medium into microcapsules, applying these microcapsules onto a substrate having elastic stretchability and deforming the dimensions of the substrate smaller than those in coating application after the microcapsules are fastened to the substrate, thereby realizing the packing of the microcapsules having a high density.
