PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bathing agent free from stimulation to skin, effective for improving the state of the skin such as the fineness, having excellent skin whitening effect and giving good feeling to the skin after bathing. SOLUTION: This bathing agent contains a trehalose alkyl ether and/or a trehalose alkenyl ether having a 1-24C alkyl group or a 3-24C alkenyl group. The average substitution number of the alkyl or alkenyl group is 1-11.
