PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that a ruptured test piece adhering to a test piece gripping member is required to be removed without being scattered near a tensile tester, because the film-shaped test piece is light and hardly drops by its self-weight into a refuge storing box, when the ruptured test piece adheres to the test piece gripping member by static electricity. SOLUTION: This automatic tensile tester for a film having a test piece recovery mechanism is equipped with a sucking device for sucking and recovering the ruptured test pieces 6, 7 adhering to the test piece gripping member 11, 12. Hereby, the ruptured test pieces 6, 7 adhering to the test piece gripping member 11, 12 by static electricity can be surely recovered without being scattered near the tensile tester by the tensile tester.
