PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellent foliage-withering agent that can desiccate the foliage part of crop plants and provide a method of drying the bodies of crop plants. SOLUTION: The foliage-withering agent for crop plants (potatoes, sunflower seeds, soybeans, rape seeds and sorghum) is represented by formula (I) (wherein X is CH group or nitrogen atom; Z is a halogen atom, A is oxygen atom or the like; R<1> is hydroxy, a 1-7C alkoxy or the like; R<2> is H, or methyl; R<3> is H, a halogen, a 1-3C alkyl or a 1-3C alkoxy). The foliage-withering agent is used to desiccate crop plant bodies.
