PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection device securing the area of the working floor on top of an elevator cab and reducing the height over the cab for preventing a worker from falling. SOLUTION: Protection fences 5a-5c, rotatable toward the inner side of the top of the cab 1, are stood on the right, left and rear sides of the top of the cab 1, respectively. A cab control box 6 is mounted on the protection fence 5a on the right side. A worker works on the working floor 4. After the work is finished, the protection fence 5a on the right side is superposed on the bottom, the protection fence 5b on the left side is on the middle, and the protection fence 5c on the rear side is on the top.
