PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel opener which is convenient for carrying without incompatibility as compared with conventional openers which are attended too much with practical functionality and inconvenient for carrying because of bulkiness. SOLUTION: The opener is composed of a main body 2 which has a dent 5 at its one side for fitting onto the top of a bottle cap C and ribs 6 at the inner circumferential wall of the dent 5 for engagement with peripheral side ribs C" of the cap, and a cover body 4 which is connected with a hinge portion 3 to the main body 2 and has a wedge-shaped projection 7 at its one side for engagement with a tab T of a can K. The main body 2 and the cover body 4 can be united compactly when being folded down and can be converted respectively into a bottle cap turning device and a can tab raising device.
