Method for data transfer from a DVD player (A) to a DVD decoder (D) in which the output signal from the play unit (A) is transferred to a first transcoder (T1) the output of which is transferred to a second transcoder (T2) via a multimedia network cable (M). The output of the second transcoder forms the input to the DVD decoder (D). An Independent claim is made for a circuit arrangement for data transfer from a DVD player to a DVD decoder.
