PURPOSE: A muffler is provided to reduce the manufacturing cost by forming an inner case of high corrosion resistance and an outer case of low corrosion resistance with different materials, and prevent the shortening of life span of the muffler caused by residual stress by removing the welding work. CONSTITUTION: In a muffler formed with twofold steel plates which are rolled to form an inner case(2a) and an outer case(2b) of the muffler, a coupling part(12) of the twofold steel plates are formed by the lock seam type. The inner case is stainless of low corrosion resistance and the outer case is an SACD material of low corrosion resistance. Thereby, manufacturing cost is reduced and the life span of the muffler is prolonged.
