PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially realize focusing for all ranges in a photographic image frame, in a single lens reflex camera, without making the camera larger. SOLUTION: In this single lens reflex camera, photographing light made incident through a photographic lens barrel is reflected by a half mirror and formed into an image on a focusing screen, and the image formed is observed by a photographer via a pentagonal prism. The camera is equipped with a contrast type AF means, equipped with an area sensor 21 for observing nearly all the photographic area on the focusing screen 15 and an optical lens 20 for guiding the photographing light to the area sensor, and a control means for controlling the focus driving system of the camera, based on information from the contrast type AF means. |
