PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a draft chamber which can obtain balanced quantities of supply air and exhaust air without relying upon any existing air conditioner. SOLUTION: The main body 1 of this draft chamber which is set up in a room 3 and has a working space inside is provided with an opening/closing door 15 which opens and closes the front opening 13 of the main body 1, an exhaust passage 27 which controls the quantity of the exhaust air correspondingly to the height H of the opening of the door 15, and a supply air passage 29 which controls the quantity of the supply air so that the quantity of the air blown into the room 3 from an air outlet 41 may become nearly equal to that of the exhaust air. The main body 1 is also provided with an air- conditioning unit 37 which sends the outside air from the supply air passage 29 to the air outlet 41 as conditioned air.
