A condiment grinder 10, comprises a housing 11, a condiment storage chamber 13, a trigger 12 which is pivotally attached to housing 11, a substantially cylindrical elongated piston 14 which extends through chamber 13 and has at one end a serrated portion 15, a linkage arrangement comprising first and second links 17, 18 which transmit movement of the trigger to the piston, and a grinding aperture 16 which cooperates with the serrated portion 15 of piston 14 so as to grind the condiment accordingly. The grinding aperture 16 is formed between two concave grinding blocks 25, 26 and block 26 can be moved relative to the piston and fixed block 25 via a nut and bolt arrangement 28, 27. A coiled spring 22, which surrounds piston 14, bears upon the wall of the chamber in one direction and biasses the piston so as to accommodate trigger 12 in a rest position when in an opposite direction. Trigger 12 is pivoted relative to housing 11 via a pin 35 and a cooperating pin and slot 26, 37. A subsidiary chamber 32, utilising a moveable perforated cover 33, is also provided so as to store a second condiment. |
