PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal for a ball screw capable of simultaneously satisfying two functions, i.e., a function capable of retaining a lubricant inside a ball screw nut, and a function capable of preventing entry of foreign matter into the inside of the ball screw nut from the outside. SOLUTION: This seal 15 for the ball screw comprises foreign matter removal members 16 each having a hole 16a corresponding to an axially perpendicular cross-sectional shape of a ball screw shaft 12, for preventing the entry of the foreign matter into the inside from the outside of the ball screw nut 13; and a sealing member 17 having a hole 17a corresponding to the axially perpendicular cross-sectional shape of the ball screw shaft 12, for retaining the lubricant inside the ball screw nut 13. When the foreign matter removal member 16 and the sealing member 17 are overlapped, and the respective inner circumferences contact with a ball rolling surface 12a and a peripheral surface 12b of the ball screw shaft 12. The foreign matter removal member 16 is positioned on the outer side in the axial direction of the ball screw nut 13, and the sealing member 17 is positioned on the inner side of the foreign matter removal member 16 positioned on the outer side in the axial direction of the ball screw nut 13. |
