PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink sheet for laser heat transfer with such advantages that the selection range of laser wavelengths as a light source is wide and the sensitivity is high with almost no performance variations due to exposure environments (temperature and humidity) and the mar resistance of an ink layer is enhanced with the low incidence of image foul, and an image recording method using this ink sheet. SOLUTION: In the ink sheet for laser heat transfer comprising a photothermal conversion layer and an ink layer formed, in that order, on a support, the photothermal conversion layer contains a resin with a heat decomposition temperature of not less than 400 deg.C in a nitrogen atmosphere and a black pigment. In the ink sheet for laser heat transfer comprising the photothermal conversion layer and the ink layer laminated, in that order, on the support, the density of ink per 1 g/m<2> of the photothermal conversion layer is not less than 0.5. |
