<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starting device for an occupant crash protector capable of properly starting the occupant crash protector regardless of traveling conditions of a vehicle. SOLUTION: This starting device 20 for the occupant crash protector is provided with a car speed sensor 26 to detect speed of the vehicle, a pre-crash sensor 24 to detect an obstacle which may collide with the vehicle, a collision prediction determination part 28 to predict collision between the obstacle and the vehicle based on a detection value by the pre-crash sensor 24, a post-crash sensor 22 to detect a degree of impact given to the vehicle after collision of the vehicle with the obstacle, and a start determining part 29 to determine if start of the occupant crash protector is necessary or not based on speed of the vehicle detected by the car speed sensor 26, result of determination by the collision prediction determining part 28, and a detected value of the post- crash sensor 22.</p> |
