PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To dispense with corrective steering by a driver by allowing a predicted travel locus and an actual travel locus to coincide with each other even with a change in the travel conditions of a vehicle such as vehicle speed and disturbance in a travel assisting device for the vehicle predicting and displaying the travel locus of the vehicle. SOLUTION: A controller predicts the travel locus of a vehicle according to a steering wheel steering angleδf detected by a steering wheel steering angle sensor 21, and vehicle speed V detected by a vehicle speed sensor 23. The predicted travel locus is displayed on a front window 31a or a rear window 31b. The controller 26 further computes estimated lateral acceleration Gxe on the basis of the steering wheel steering angleδf and vehicle speed V and computes the deviationΔGx between the computed estimated lateral acceleration Gxe and actual lateral acceleration Gx detected by a lateral acceleration sensor 24, and controls a steering actuator 12 so as to eliminate the deviationΔGx to correctively steer front wheels 13a, 13b. |
