PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ball bearing device capable of preventing the generation of shaft bending while avoiding complexity of assembly, and of attaining small runout. SOLUTION: This ball bearing device 10 is retained on a shaft 20 having a cylindrical outer periphery by making a plurality of ball bearings 11, positioned at prescribed intervals in the axial direction, fit inner rings 12 of the ball bearings onto the outer periphery of the shaft 20 by means of interference-fit, so that pre-load is applied to between the ball bearings. The interference between the shaft 20 and the inner ring 12 is set <=4μm, and the radial runout of the shaft generated when the shaft 20 is rotated is set <=2μm, so that the shaft 20 and the inner ring 12 are fixed by both use of interference-fit and adhesion.
