PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioner for a vehicle having a foot takeout port in a side part of an air conditioning case in which hot air can be easily supplied to the foot takeout port while avoiding increase in ventilation resistance, and in which an opening area of the foot takeout port is enlarged while securing favorable air mixing performance. SOLUTION: This air conditioner for a vehicle is provided with a cold water main flow passage 6 to introduce air passing an evaporator 4 to the downstream side to bypass a hot water heater 5, a hot air main flow passage 7 to introduce air passing the hot water heater 5 to the downstream side, an air mixing door 8 to regulate the ratio between air flowing in the cold air main flow passage 6 and air flowing in the hot air main flow passage 7, and takeout ports to take out air conditioned air provided on the downstream side of the air mixing door 8. Among the takeout ports, the foot takeout port 13 for taking out air conditioned air to be supplied to the foot side is formed in a mixing area where air flowing through the cold air main flow passage 6 is mixed with air flowing through the hot air main flow passage 7, or in a side part of the air conditioning case 2 positioned more on the hot air main flow passage side than that.
