PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the core position of an optical fiber for an optical connector with high precision by making the guide pin hole of an optical connector plug parallel to the axis of an observation camera. SOLUTION: In the optical connector 1 for positioning corresponding optical fibers 12 to each other, a guide pin 4 with an optical fiber embedded in the center is put in the hole for inserting the guide pin 2 of the optical connector plug 11; a light beam is made incident from the rear to the optical fiber in the optical connector plug 11 and to the optical fiber in the guide pin 4 for illuminating the core of the optical fiber at the end face 111 of the optical connector plug, and observing this state from the front by means of a CCD camera 5. Thus, in the device for measuring, with high precision, the position of the core of the optical connector plug 11, the guide pin 4 is highly precisely fixed on a connector fixing part 6, for the purpose of holding the end face of the optical connector plug 11 vertically to the optical axis of the CCD camera 5.
