PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat-sensitive recording medium with such advantages that the whiteness is high and the color development of a white paper part by an environment resistance test is inhibited and the color developing properties are high, and further, a reversible heat-sensitive recording medium which enables color development and decolorization to be performed only by a difference in heating conditions and shows a sharp color contrast and superb image retention properties. SOLUTION: This heat-sensitive recording medium has a sheet-like support, a colorless or pale-color dye precursor formed on the sheet-like support and a heat-sensitive recording layer including a developer which thermally develops a color through a chemical reaction with the dye precursor. In addition, the developer contains at least one kind of chemical compound having at least one boric acid group represented by formula -B(OH)2 ...(I). |
