PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display device which can accurately and easily make itself understood by the outside. SOLUTION: The user of the map display device 26 selects roads which become the route to its destination on a map displayed on the display device 26 by operating a group of control switches on a touch panel, etc., laminated upon and integrated with the display device 26. The device 26 displays a menu for selecting display attributes, such as the thickness, color, line type, etc., of the selected roads and displays the roads by using selected display attributes. The display device 26 transmits communication data composed of map displaying information consisting of selected data including the display attributes and the link IDs of the selected roads and the center coordinates, scale, and direction of the map displayed on the display device 26 at the time of selecting the roads and hand-written data inputted by the user by operating the control switches to another navigation system. The navigation system displays a map and the selected roads on the display device 26 based on the communication data. |
