PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pointer for a measuring instrument device, by which an indication part indicating a display on a dial is brightened without irregularities and which can restrain an optical restriction. SOLUTION: The pointer 12 for the measuring instrument device is provided with a base end 41 and the indication part 42. The output shaft of a movement is attached to the base end 41. The part 41 is provided with a light receiving part. The light receiving part reflects light from a bulb toward the tip of the indication part 42. The indication part 42 is extended toward the outer circumferential direction of the part 41 from the part 41. The indication part 42 is provided with an overlap 48 which is overlapped with a graduation for vehicle-speed display on the dial for vehicle-speed display. The pointer 12 is provided with a metal reflection layer 49 which is formed on the whole outer surface of the indication part 42 excluding a surface 48a facing the crew member of an automobile in the overlap 48.
