PURPOSE: A restarting method of an immobilizer system in an emergency is provided to prevent accidents by promptly starting again without access to limp home mode in stopping an engine within the danger zone during traveling in limp home mode. CONSTITUTION: A code from a transponder is compared with the predetermined code in an electronic control unit in case of normal travel in stopping an engine during traveling, and starting is restricted in identifying the code(S5,S6,S7). The number of engine stop is detected in case of limp home mode travel(S8), and the elapsed time after stopping the engine is compared with the first reference time(S9). Starting is performed without comparison of the code in case of the elapsed time to be less than the first reference time(S10). The engine is stopped automatically in passing the predetermined time after restarting. The vehicle restarts promptly in stopping the engine in the danger zone during limp home mode traveling.
