PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical system for display for mounting on head which can enhance resolution of an image and can minimize image distortions due to movement of eyes. SOLUTION: The optical system for display for mounting on head is provided with a light-emitting diode 22, which is a light source, an illuminating prism 23 for refracting light from the light source, a polarizing plate 26 for polarizing the light emitted from the illuminating prism 23, a polarized light beam splitter 30 for spliting the light emitted from the polarizing plate 26, a reflection type liquid crystal panel 10 for displaying images by the light emitted from the polarized light beam splitter 30, an eyepiece 40 which is arranged in front of the polarized light beam splitter 30 and magnifies image of the liquid crystal panel 10 and a protective mirror 50 arranged in front of the eyepiece 40. |
