PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid the occurrence of a detection error even in using a rotary encoder as an angle detector for a rudder. SOLUTION: This rudder control system disclosed herein comprises a normal angle detection circuit 11 which consists of a first preload detection circuit 17A for inputting a first preload status signal PLS1 and a second preload status signal PLS2 output from first and second rotary encoders, respectively, detecting an input timing for both preload status signals and outputting preload switching signals and a first selector circuit 18A for inputting the first and second steering angle detection signals output from the first and second rotary encoders, respectively, and outputting one of the first and second steering angle detection signals after controlled by the preload switching signals.
