PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood coated grip component having excellent heat insulation, having moderate elasticity and having a surface giving reasonable uneveness feeling, hardly causing slipping, when the grip component is gripped by a user, having excellent water resistance, and capable of being used even as a guardrail for a water-section such as a bath room, a lavatory, a washroom and the like by forming a grip component by applying wood coating to a core such as a pipe and the like. SOLUTION: Powder bodies 41, grain bodies 42, chips 43 and the like of wood (the heartwood, a sapwood, a cork bark and the like) are individually or mixed at an appropriate rate and kneaded together with a solidifying agent, and then coated to form a coating 4 of an appropriate thickness or formed into a sheet 6 and bonded fixed to a surface of the core 3 of a pipe or a rod to provide the wood coated grip component 2.
