PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an intake device for an engine capable of improving intake responsiveness of the engine by increasing air cleaner capacity and a filter area. SOLUTION: In this intake device for the engine, the outside air is filtered by an air cleaner 304 and is supplied to a combustion chamber through an intake passage. The air cleaner 304 has first and second capacity parts 306 and 307 connected to the intake passage in series, and first and second suction ports 310 and 311 having filter elements 308 and 309 are formed in the first and the second capacity parts 306 and 307.
