The procedure for inserting a tie rod to consolidate a building or rock face consists of cutting an annular groove (1) the surface material with a cylindrical cutter, removing at least the outer portion of the core (7) made by the groove, and drilling a hole for the tie bolt in the end wall of the hole (11) left by the core. Once the tie rod has been fitted the front portion of the core is replaced in the hole and the groove filled with a sealant made from a resin and powder of the original material to restore its appearance.
