PURPOSE: A computer system is provided to turn off peripherals, like a monitor, connected to a main body of a computer when the main body is turned off. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises a main board(12), a switch(32), a monitor(52), a power supply(22) and a relay(42). The main board(12) adopts an ATX(Advanced Technology Extended) type, can be turned off by a software and receives DC power from a DC terminal of the power supply(22). The switch(32), a push button for turning on or off the computer, is connected in parallel to the main board(12). The power supply(22) adopts an ATX type and supplies the DC and the AC power to the main board(12) and the monitor(52), respectively. The relay(42) turns off the monitor(52) by sensing the DC power supplied from the power supply(22), cutting off the DC power from the main board(12), and then cutting off the AC power from the monitor. So the peripherals using the same power supply(22) can be turned off with a software or a hardware as well as the main body by intercepting the AC power supplied from the power supply(22).
