GRAB RAIL MOUNTING STRUCTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grab rail mounting structure of simple constitution capable of decreasing the load applied to a grab rail base when a side air bag is inflated without increasing the number of part items and without increasing the number of grab rail part items. SOLUTION: The mounting structure for the grab rail 1 to be mounted in the specified position on a roof garnish 4 is constituted so that a grab rail mounting hole 7 for installation of the grab rail 1 is provided in the specified position on the roof garnish 4 and the grab rail 1 is fixed to a car body structural material by the grab rail base 1b installed in such a way as covering the edge 8 of the mounting hole 7, wherein slits 9 are formed in that portion of the hole edge 8 which is covered with the grab rail base 1b.
