<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for inexpensively producing Bi-containing steel which contains no harmful element such as Pb, thereby is environmentally friendly, and and to obtain a material for Bi addition. SOLUTION: The material for Bi addition consists of an alloy or a mixture each containing, by mass, 5 to 70% Bi, and also containing one or more kinds of elements selected from Cu, Sn, Ag, Mg and Ni by >=20% in total. Alternatively, the above material is formed into a wire whose circumference is coated with Cu, carbon steel, stainless steel Al or the like. Alternatively the above material is in the shape of a granular lump. The above material is added to the molten steel of carbon steel or stainless steel.</p> |
