PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an AF parallax correcting method by which the AF range- finding of an aimed subject is surely performed, even when the subjects at long and short distances coexist by giving a plurality of range-finding points in a direction where parallax is corrected, defining the proper distance range of the respective range-finding points and partially overlapping the adjacent range-finding points. SOLUTION: A line sensor for AF is divided into a plurality of blocks, each of which is called an 'area'. An effective distance range is set for each area, and the range of a distance equivalent to an AF target for each range-finding point and its vicinity is set as the effective distance range of each range-finding point. Then, the effective distance ranges of the adjacent range-finding points are made to overlap. Whether each distance value obtained at each range-finding point is within the effective distance range of each range-finding point is discriminated. When a plurality of effective distance values exist, the value on the short distance side is selected. Thus, the AF range-finding of the aimed subject is conducted surely. |
