PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a correction method in which the amplitude of a sine-wave signal is corrected continuously by a method wherein a fixed slit for a reference voltage, which can detect a quantity of light identical to a maximum quantity of light transmitted through a fixed slit for sine waves in a fixed slit plate is installed and the quantity of light is made identical. SOLUTION: The correction method for the amplitude of the sine-wave signal by an optical encoder is a method, wherein the fixed slit (11) for the reference voltage having an opening area twice or equal to the total opening area of the fixed slit (10) for the sine waves is installed so as to be adjacent to the fixed slit (10) for the sine waves, and the amplitude of the sine-wave signal (1) is corrected continuously by using a reference voltage (Vc) which is identical to the peak value of the sine-wave signal (1).
