PURPOSE: Ceramic compacts(tile, mat, etc.) giving off mugwort or pine odors lastly are provided by impregnating ceramic compacts with mugwort or pine extracts. The resultant compacts, applied to steam bath rooms, pillows and mats, emit far infrared rays. CONSTITUTION: The clay compacts giving off natural odors are manufactured by the following steps of: mixing 30-60wt.% of clay, 40-70wt.% of far infrared materials such as quartz porphyry, yellow earth, germanium and jade; forming and drying over 10hrs; sintering at 600-1000deg.C for 4-7hrs; impregnating clay compacts with mugwort(or pine) extract by heating the compacts in mugwort(or pine) extract for 3-5hrs.
