PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the impact energy of an object and surely prevent the entry of the object. SOLUTION: This under-run protector comprises a bracket 7 installed on a chassis frame 1, an under-run protector stay 14 swingably pivoted on the bracket 7, an under-run protector beam 20 installed on the under-run protector stay 14 so as to be positioned at the end of the chassis frame 1, and an absorbing member 22 disposed between the bracket 7 and the under-run protector stay 14. When the object collides with the under-run protector beam 20, the impact energy is absorbed by the deformation of the absorbing member 22 caused by the swing of the under-run protector stay 14, and the under-run protector beam 20 is moved downward.
