LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING 2 PORT DATA POLARITY INVERTER AND DRIVING METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display having a 2 port data polarity inverter and a driving method thereof are provided which can reduce current consumption and can improve an EMI(ElectroMagnetic Interference) characteristics by reducing a data transition to a half using a 2 port REV in a timing controller driving method. CONSTITUTION: A liquid crystal panel(56) displays an image corresponding to a video signal, and a system driving part generates a data signal compressed with a control signal. A timing controller(52) generates timing signals to drive to the liquid crystal panel with signals inputted from the system driving part. A gate driver(55) and a data driver(53) receives the timing signal from the timing controller and displays a picture on the liquid crystal panel in correspondence to the data signal. The timing controller comprises a data arrangement part supplying the data signal to the data driver, and a timing control signal generation part enabling to supply the timing signal to the data driver and the data driver, and a polarity control signal generation part enabling to supply a polarity control signal to the gate driver and the data driver. The polarity control signal generation part comprises a liquid crystal polarity inversion driving part checking a polarity inversion of the liquid crystal and inverting the polarity, and the first and the second data polarity inversion driving part checking data transition of odd-numbered data and even-numbered data respectively and then inverting the polarity of data.
