PURPOSE: A system for managing a credit card or an ID card for preventing a copy and an embezzlement and a method for controlling the same are provided to secure a stable usage although a trouble is generated by a malfunction and to prevent a misappropriation although information is drained away caused by a hacking, etc. on a communication path. CONSTITUTION: If a credit card or an ID card are connected to a reading unit(S12), the reading unit reads user information stored in the card(S14). The reading unit is connected to a managing unit and transmits the user information(S16). The managing unit checks a security item with respect to excess of an inquiry limit according to terms(S18). If the inquiry limit does not exceed the setting limit, a random password address and other data are transmitted(S22). The managing unit inputs the transmitted data in the card(S24). The managing unit checks the number of addresses requested in accordance with a secure logic of the card(S26). If the number of addresses is correct, it is checked whether a security item(S30). If the inquiry limit does not exceed the setting limit, the reading unit transmits a corresponding password of a requested address to the managing unit(S34). A data bank-2 stored in the managing unit reads a password corresponded to a password array of the user(S36). The managing unit compares the password read in the card with the password of the data bank-2, and performs an authentication(S38). A proper operation such as a result report or an information recording is performed according to the authentication result, and information with respect to a necessary usage record is recorded in the data bank-2 and the card(S40).
