PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a modulator without lowering the optical performance of the modulator. SOLUTION: The electro-optic modulator 30 is provided with N pieces of modulation elements MN, including different N-pieces of control electrodes connected optically in series. A control electronic circuit 50 can supply N-pieces of the identical electrical signal Q to different N pieces of output. Each of the N pieces of output is connected to each of the N pieces of control electrodes of the modulation elements MN, and an optical transmitter 100 is provided with the electro-optic modulator 30 which is controlled by the control electronic circuit 50.
