<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power steering for an automobile capable of preventing a clearance formed when installed and carrying out the function of a torque limiter at the overload of a motor. SOLUTION: This electric power steering for the automobile is provided with a motor housing 151; a ball nut 155 inserted in one side inside a motor shaft 154 prepared inside the motor housing, to axially move a rack bar 130 during rotation; a locking screw 156 for bringing the ball nut into close contact with the inside of the motor shaft 154; a groove 157 prepared on the rear side of the locking screw; and a retaining ring 158 inserted in the groove to support the rear part of the locking screw 156. The groove 157 is circumferentially prepared, and an inner taper face 157a is prepared at one side face on the outer peripheral side. The retaining ring 158 is prepared expansively onto the outer peripheral side and provided with an outer taper face 158a facing the inner taper face 157a, at one side face on the outer peripheral side so as to be axially movable by the expansion force and fixed in close contact with the groove 157.</p> |
