PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pearlitic rail which has excellent ductility, and has excellent wear resistance and rolling fatigue damage resistance. SOLUTION: In the pearlitic rail, at least a part of the head has a pearlitic structure essentially consisting of lamellas consisting of ferrite and cementite. The interval between the lamellas in the pearlitic structure is <=150 nm, and also, the grain size of pearlitic colonies is <=50μm. The rail has chemical components containing, by mass, 0.75 to 0.84% C, <=1% Si, 0.4 to 2.5% Mn, <=0.035% P and <=0.035% S, and the balance substantially Fe.
